Dixie sent me an email yesterday to say that we have both a director and a location for a singing group. The first meeting will be Wednesday June 2, in Arroyo Grande with meetings scheduled for every other week. There will be a fee of $5.00 for each PD person and no charge for caregivers who wish to participate.
Dixie wanted to get the word out so that as many of us as possible could go to the first meeting. There are driving directions included in this email as well as a flyer to give you the date and time. I do sing, but will be out of town, and John can't carry a tune with a backhoe let alone a shovel, so we won't be represented until the second meeting which will be June 16th.
Please come if you possibly can. I read a description of a similar singing group, the Tremble Clefs, and it sounds like something we could all do successfully. Plus - it's excellent exercise for your voice and throat and whole body.

The complex is right behind Santa Lucia Bank on the corner of Grand and Courtland across from Spencer's Market. So for anyone coming on the 101 they get off on Oak Park and just go down to Grand turn left go one block turn left and the complex is right there behind the bank. They have a ramp for people who need walkers or chairs and the room has a good piano so I don't have to carry my portable keyboard. I am ready to get started and so as you see the flyer you will notice that I have put every other week down beginning next Wednesday June 2, 2010. Please distribute this flyer to all your support group asap. I do believe the best way would be through email. Give me a call or write back to me if you have any questions.
