Emergency Alert/Response Services
- Caution: Emergency Alert/Response Services
are generally designed to operate with a standard phone line. They generally do not operate with internet based phone systems (also known as VOIP systems). If you have only a VOIP system these Emergency Alert systems may not be available to you. In addition some VOIP systems may have issues with reliable access to 911 emergency services.
Maintaining one standard phone line in your home, connected to a telephone that does not require batteries, or a plug in transformer, should provide, all other things being equal, the most reliable access possible to phone based emergency services.
